in-person WORKSHOP for kids and teens (age 8+) on August 20, 2026

Something Beautiful Is Waiting for Their Hands

A Backstitch Embroidery Workshop for Kids & Teens in My Home Studio.

This workshop is simple.

✨ They’ll pick up real sewing and embroidery basics—skills they can carry with them for life. I provide all the materials, so you don’t need to bring anything.
✨ They’ll finish something with their own hands and feel that quiet pride that comes from making
✨ They’ll discover a hobby that slows the world down
✨ They’ll build real focus, the kind that comes from actually finishing something

Only six spots available for this workshop!

We sit together, thread our needles, and stitch with no screens, no pressure, and no rush. Every session is led by me, a passionate embroidery instructor experienced in teaching kids and teens in a supportive, safe environment. I guide each step and closely supervise the group so everyone feels confident and cared for as they learn. At the start, I teach careful needle handling and safe stitching habits, showing how to pass, hold, and use needles properly. Needles and supplies are counted in and out, and all stitching is done at the table under my supervision. Safety is always a top priority, so parents can feel at ease.

It’s just hands, learning something new. And at the end, they have something real to hold onto—something they made themselves.

Kuralai's art is the most beautiful handcrafted art I have ever seen. She puts all her love and uniqueness in every piece she makes!

It was very clear, organized, and easy for children to understand. After workshop my daughter became genuinely interested in hand embroidering 😊

A big thank you to Kuralai! 🙏🏼 I think this is such a wonderful initiative. These kinds of workshops are very beneficial for developing children’s fine motor skills, creativity, and patience. This particular project made us happy.

What will we do?

In our workshops, we stitch a variety of simple yet beautiful projects:

On Thursday, 8/20, participants will embroider on a shirt (they will need to bring their own shirt, and all other necessary supplies will be provided)

What can you expect?

ONE - small group (max 6 kids)

I keep the group small, just six kids, so everyone gets the attention and encouragement they need. Your child will always be seen and supported here.

TWO - Gaining superskills

BILATERAL INTEGRATION, CREATIVE EXPRESSION - Repetitive and rhythmic nature of embroidery, combined with the use of both hands, can help strengthen the connection between the two sides of the brain, which is a key aspect of bilateral integration.

THREE - convenient and timesaving

ALL necessary supplies for the workshop will be provided at no cost.

FOUR - it is not just a workshop it is an experience

Kids experience the joy and calm that come from making art and will get a finished product they can use!

five - Safety is always at the heart of what we do

I stay close, teach safe needle habits suited to each age, and use materials that fit each group. I want you to feel confident your child is cared for.

The workshop is on august 20 | in-person in my home studio

hand-embroidery workshop

Hi,
I’m
kuralai!

I started hand embroidering at the age of nine. It was the best way to spend my time in the after-school program because it was calming, I felt safe, and creative. I came back to hand-embroidery after years of putting it aside, and it changed everything. I am certified in children's program instruction and have completed child-safety training, so parents can feel confident that their children are learning from an experienced, caring teacher.

I truly believe hand-embroidery is so fascinating and therapeutic. That’s why I started teaching it to kids last year. Because I’ve seen what happens when someone — at any age — discovers they can make something beautiful from scratch.

I want your kids to feel that spark too, to see what their own hands can do.

This workshop is for your child if they:

Are curious and creative, with or without any experience

Could use a real break from screens

Sometimes struggle to stick with things. Embroidery is patience you can actually see growing

Just need an afternoon that feels different: fun and exciting!

Life is beautiful, especially when you make something with your own hands!

All levels welcome. Ages 8 to 15. This Thursday on 8/20/2026 from 5 to 6.30 pm at my home studio on 5110 Gully Way, San Antonio. Spaces are limited, so reserve your spot today!

For drop-off and pick-up, you are welcome to walk your child to the door at the start of the session. I’ll be there to greet you both. At pick-up, I will walk each child to the door and make sure they are safely back with you. If you have any special instructions, just let me know. Your child’s safety always comes first.
